In Which I Cringe At Myself

cho_malfoy just posted about Fan History. For some reason, I decided to see if my foray into FanFiction.Net (aka The Pit of Voles) was on there. It took me five minutes to remember my username on there, but sure enough, there was an entry on me. Turns out FF.Net has an automatic bot that updates users.
I shouldn't have looked. All I feel now is shame. I wrote a coda to the second Matrix movie, if that tells you anything. *shudder* To make matters worse, I decided to look back at the posts from right after I started on LJ, way back in 2001. My shame was compounded. I'm never doing that again. I would put bright, blinky text reminding myself never to do that again, but I don't need anything else to be ashamed of.
